Robot T-rex

For those who don’t know of the excellent video game company Doublefine shame on you. They have made fantabulous games and excelled in the area of awesomeness.

My friend Conley and I have had a love affair with these folks for quite some time and even visited  their studio one summer a few years back. So imagine my surprise when I discovered a package on my front step yesterday from them.

Somehow they got wind of the fact that I was having brain surgery and sent me a get well soon card! This SO made my week.

For seriousness. I can’t even believe how cool this is. I’m going to pick up a frame today after work.

Side Effects May Vary

Lately I’ve gotten into the habit of taking one of my pain pills before hitting the sack. I know that it’s not generally a good idea, but I’m not the type to abuse the chemistry set (with a few exceptions). I’m not sure why I haven’t been sleeping well, it may be because of the bad dreams I’ve been having, or it may have to do with the fact that I sleep with two of the worlds biggest bedhogs.

All I want for Christmas

January 23, 2010

No? Perhaps not.

Part of the preparation for surgery is shaving my head. While technically I don’t have to do this, I would feel ridiculous walking around with a big bald patch, so I got it buzzed off a few days before they cracked me open,I had some fun with it and got a mohawk.

So extreme.

I’m thinking since my hair is much shorter this time, that I’ll just shave a heart or some other symbol.

Any suggestions?

So today I stumbled upon a few videos explaining things far better then I can.

I wish everything in my life could be explained by a man with a calming british accent.

I found the original video on another hydro-blog http://pepperknowsbest.blogspot.com/ and google lead me from there.

Trendy causes are fun.

So today I received a package from my mom, in it were several hydrocephalus awareness bracelets. I’m all for bringing attention to the swollen brains of the world, but I can’t help but feel that these are a little inappropriate.

It reads: ~Hydrocephalus~ Catch the Wave of Awareness~

Now, of all the people in the world, people with hydrocephalus should not be catching waves. We cant surf, we very rarely have any balance at all. And why white? Our arch-enemy, the spinal fluid that inflates our brain is white. Maybe thats the wave? The spinal fluid that is released in surgery?
